6 months ago today I started at RSC. I weighed 165 pounds. Bryan Rosenberg thought I was pregnant. I felt worse than I did when I was pregnant (with twins).
When I started in June, they asked what my goal weight was. I said 137 because as women there seems to be something about our “pre-baby” weight that feels like a goal. But it was never about the weight.
I read my journal from July yesterday -
It said “remember, 137 is not the goal -
The goal is to get stronger, to show up every week and get better. The goal is to find a community of people that you can have fun with.”
Today, I weigh 131 😱 and I most certainly do NOT look pregnant. I can do 2-3 double unders (still working on the rest of the CF party tricks). I ran a 10k. I feel stronger. I’m not special nor am I looking for kudos about my weight loss. I just wanted to share my appreciation for this gym.
I showed up every week - MWF at 6am and sometimes on Saturday. I did what I was told (mostly). But most importantly, I found community. People that encouraged me, cheered for me, no repped me and showed up with me and for me. It’s a special thing to be part of a community. I hope that you find success in the process and can measure your success in ways other than pounds.
With gratitude to everyone at RSC,
-Jen Taylor

I started on March 1st and I struggled with transitioned from eating junk food and/or skipping meals to eating Whole 30 meals with a purpose. I thought I was all in, and while I was trying to move the ball forward, Stephanie was astute enough to realize I was waning. I wasn’t ready, so she paused the Program while I got ready mentally and got myself together. During the time we paused, I continued to share what I was eating for each meal with Stephanie and she got a real glimpse into who I was at that time. It was unfiltered and it allowed us both the opportunity to look into the window and see things for exactly the way they were. I felt free to be who I was and this is where change began. We had several heart to heart discussions and she made me look inward and face myself and the truth of why was I behaving this way and not loving myself. It was freeing and it felt safe. I got to the heart of the matter after talking things out with Stephanie and I felt ready to begin my journey of success.
On April 5th, we restarted the Whole 30 program and I have not looked back since. I have been compliant; I have been honest; and I have been committed. This journey with Stephanie has been life altering because I now know why I gained the weight in the first place and I also now know what I have to do to get the extra weight off, and most importantly I now know what to do when I am faced with challenges and obstacles. I can have a moment, or a couple of meals off program, but I have to get back on Program within a day. I can’t linger in no man’s land for days, because it has the potential to turn into weeks, then months. I can’t sign up! I have to keep my eyes on the prize. Stephanie has been extremely helpful in terms of allowing me to see myself for who I am and who I am working to become. She is a motivator, an encourager, and she will help to push you when you need a push. She remains one of my biggest supporters.
Stephanie and I have a weekly tag up to talk about how things went for the week, and to plan for the upcoming week. She is my coach and she has helped me become a better version of myself. Stephanie really cares about seeing you progress and make positive change. She is always available to you and she will help you when you don’t know what to do, all you have to do is reach out. Stephanie is someone I call my FRIEND.
